Sola Upper Secondary school is a combined school offering General as well as Vocational Studies and also Sports and Physical Education Studies.
There are approximately 800 pupils in our school, and about 110 employees. The school is situated close to a gymnasium and a sports field not far from centre of Sola about 13 kilometres from Stavanger.
We offer the following courses: General and Business Studies, Sports and Physical Studies, Engineering and Mechanical Trades Studies, Technical Building Trade studies, and Electrical Trade Studies. The latter also includes Avionic and Aircraft Mechanic Studies which is a national course taught in only four schools in Norway. In addition to this we also offer introductory courses for foreign language pupils.
The school was built in 1985 and has received a price for its architecture. The canteen with the surrounding amphitheatre is a popular place for our pupils to meet and to discuss schoolwork.
Sola Upper Secondary School gives the pupils a broad choice of subjects and wants to create a good learning environment. By using our resources in untraditional ways, we are able to present one of the widest ranges of subjects in the region.
Due to the increasing internationalization of the world young people today are met with new demands. In order to meet these demands Sola Upper Secondary School wants the pupils to develop an international perspective and cross-cultural communication skills. The school has a wide international network and cooperates with schools in several countries in Europe.
